Paul Young’s early strike gave Turriff victory in the final Highland League game of the season.
The only goal of the match arrived in the seventh minute when Fort William failed to clear their lines and Young scored from eight yards out.
There was a lengthy delay during the first half as Aaron McKenna suffered a fractured cheekbone after being involved in a challenge with Richard Tawse and an ambulance took the Turriff midfielder to hospital.
Fort William conceded a penalty in the 34th minute when United striker David Booth was fouled by the home side’s 51-year-old keeper Jimmy Paterson.
But the goalie then redeemed himself by saving the resultant spot-kick from Artjoms Kuznecovs.
In the second half Iain MacLellan fired a shot off the crossbar and Scott Davidson sent a header wide from close range as Fort just failed to find an equaliser.
