Clachnacuddin sealed eleventh place in the Highland League, ending the season on a high note following last weekend's Breedon Aggregates Highland League Cup victory over Buckie Thistle. In doing so they had to see off the advances of a determined Fort side, whose young goalkeeper Robin Harvey was in inspired form throughout.
Fort created the first chance of the match after two minutes, with Iain Maclellan's effort from 25 yards deflected into the hands of former Fort keeper John Campbell.
Clach threatened on 17 minutes when Blair Lawrie blazed a shot over from 25 yards. Three minutes later the home side came close when Willie Gemmell's free-kick from the right was well saved by Campbell, before Maclellan fired the loose ball wide of target.
It took a great save on the half hour mark from Robin Harvey to deny Martin Laing with a 25 yard shot.
However, Harvey was a beaten man on 35 minutes. Scott Graham sent a delivery in from the right-hand side, and Dachi Khutsishvili was well placed to nod past the young Fort keeper at the near post.
Just four minutes later, Harvey pulled off a brilliant save to prevent Kyle Whyte doubling the Lilywhites' advantage, after the forward was played in by Graham.
Right on half-time Khutsishvili had a chance to grab a second, with his 20 yard effort turned behind the post by Harvey for a corner.
The Lochaber side's resistance paid off, as they equalised four minutes into the second-half. A brilliant goal kick by Harvey picked out James Mackay on the right, and his cross-field ball found Iain Maclellan on the left-hand side, before the forward fired home from 18 yards.
Parity lasted just eleven minutes however, with Clach regaining the lead on the hour mark thanks to Blair Lawrie's 20 yard effort.
At the other end just two minutes later, Campbell got down well to save Mackay's deflected 18 yard effort, before Maclellan got on the end of Duncan Campbell's flick on but failed to keep his shot down.
On 70 minutes came a save of the season candidate from Harvey. The teenager has been in outstanding form all season, and he again did brilliantly to deny Graham's volley from 12 yards.
Graham forced another save from Harvey on 76 minutes, with Lawrie striking the post with the follow-up.
However, Clach secured a two-goal cushion on 77 minutes, as Dachi Khutsishvili grabbed his second of the match with a shot from the edge of the box.
With just four minutes to play Scott Graham netted the final goal of the Highland League campaign, picking the ball up 12 yards out before firing home past Harvey inside his right hand post.
