Inverurie Loco Works produced a stunning comeback to win 3-2 after trailing by two goals at Christie Park.
Huntly took the lead on 36 minutes. Mark Lawson’s volleyed produced a fine save from Andrew Reid to turn the ball behind. From the resultant corner, Neale Davidson’s delivery was picked up by Gary McNamee outside the box and his shot hit off the head of Lawson and looped in at the far post.
The black and gold’s doubled their lead six minutes into the second half when Ian Cruickshank pounced to score at the near post after the visitors had failed to defend from a set piece.
Two goals in a four minute spell changed the momentum of the game. In the 56th minute, Martin Bavidge drilled a ball low towards the back post and Jordan Leyden was left with an easy chance to tap in.
On the hour mark, Bavidge again turned provider this time with a ball in from the left and when the defence couldn’t clear, Martin Laing slotted in at the far post.
With thirteen minutes remaining, Craig Dorrat and John Urquhart got in a muddle on the half-way line and after a quick counter attack, substitute Marc Young made a run into the box to finish with a first time shot and complete a memorable 3-2 win for the visitors.
