SPFL Trust Trophy Second Round

Inverness Caley Thistle v Buckie Thistle

Championship leaders Caley Thistle host Buckie Thistle at Caledonian Stadium and they’re likely to give some fringe players a run-out against their Highland League opponents. Billy Mckay, Reece McAlear and Cameron Harper could all start for Billy Dodds’ men.

Sam Morrison misses out through suspension for the visitors, while Declan Milne, Scott Adams and Adam McLeod remain out injured.

Highland League

Brechin City P-P Brora Rangers

Deveronvale v Strathspey Thistle

Deveronvale face Strathspey Thistle at Princess Royal Park, and the home side will look to build on two decent comebacks which earned them draws against Huntly and Wick Academy. Only a point separates these two sides in the table, both teams are looking for their second league win of the season.

Strathspey will aim to bounce back from successive home defeats to Keith and Rothes. They travel to Banff without Kris Duncan, Kieran Chalmers, Robbie Donaldson, James McShane, Jake Thompson and Andrew McLean.

Inverurie Locos v Formartine Utd

The first of two local derbies takes place at Harlaw Park, where Inverurie Locos take on Formartine. The home side have fitness doubts over Neil McLean, Robert Ward and Gary McGowan.

Formartine bounced back from defeats to Brechin and Buckie by defeating Huntly in the Aberdeenshire Cup in midweek. A win here would take either side into the top four, with the Brechin and Brora postponed due to a number of Covid cases in the Brora camp.

Keith v Clach

Keith are in good form and will hope to continue that against Clach at Kynoch Park. Scott Henry, James Brownie, Liam Duncan and Andrew Stewart are all unavailable for the home side.

Ryan Macleman and Harry Nicolson are in the Clach squad after joining the club on loan from Ross County and Caley Thistle respectively. Connor Bunce misses out.

Nairn County v Forres Mechanics

Nairn County meet Forres at Station Park in another derby clash, with the home side looking to end a run of five league games without a win. County sold Max Ewan to Brora Rangers earlier this week, after he turned down the offer of a contract extension.

Forres make the short trip along the A96 without the unavailable Graham Fraser and Owen Paterson. Owen Loveland (ribs) and Joe Gauld (knee) are both out injured, while there are also a couple of players with slight muscle strains who could make the substitutes bench.

Rothes v Wick Academy

Rothes’ excellent start to the season continued with them reaching the North of Scotland Cup final in midweek, after an impressive win at Strathspey. Greg Morrison, Wayne Mackintosh, Gary Kerr, Jack Brown, Sean Linden and Ewan Neil all miss the visit of Wick Academy to Mackessack Park. Aiden Wilson is doubtful and will undergo a late fitness test.

Wick have several players missing, including Richard Macadie, Alan Farquhar, Danny Mackay, Ross Allan, David Allan, James More and Alan Hughes. Gary Manson and Joe Anderson return to the squad.

Turriff Utd v Lossiemouth

Turriff face Lossiemouth at The Haughs, with both sides in the bottom three and struggling for form.

Michael Weir is unavailable for the visitors, while Ally Bellingham is out with a long term knee injury. Ross Elliott, Dean Stewart and Jared Kennedy return to the squad and should be in contention for places. Another couple of players will be assessed this morning.
