Fraserburgh cruised to a 5-0 victory away to nine-man Rothes.
After a fairly even start Rothes were hit with a double whammy in the 11th minute. A corner for the Broch lead to a scramble which culminated in Gary Gallagher handling the ball on the goalline to prevent the visitors from going ahead. He duly saw red and Scott Barbour sent Ricky Horne the wrong way to put Fraserburgh in front.
Despite being a man down Rothes reacted well and after Joao Rodriguez had a goal chopped off for offside Darek Ramsay brought out a fine stop from Scott Cowe. However they were hit with a clinical counter attack which saw PA Bruce drag the defence to the right before squaring the ball across the six yard box for Scott Barbour who was left completely unmarked and simply slotted the Broch's second into the corner of the net.
Fraserburgh's hotshot Barbour completed his hat trick in the 33rd minute with another simple finish. Willie West slipped him in through the inside right channell and from 12 yards, with no pressure on the ball, he drilled a shot to the left of the keeper.
Four minutes later it was 4-0. Some sharp one touch football in the box culminated in Willie West cutting the ball back from the byeline and Rothes defender Michael Dunn bundling the ball into his own net from close range.
There was a let off for Rothes at the start of the second half as Scott Barbour blasted a penalty kick towards the High Street after Michael Dunn was adjudged to have fouled in the penalty area.
The Broch grabbed their fifth with just eight minutes remaining, as Graham Johnston picked the ball up before curling the ball in off Horne's post from the edge of the area.
Full-time: Rothes 0-5 Fraserburgh
