It was a great night for this North cup quarter final, Clach made a few changes from Sat. defeat at Lossie. Wick only made 2 changes, Pickles was left out, MacAdie & Weir in Manson onto the bench There was very little goalmouth action in the first half. Sam Mackay chipped the ball just over after 15 mins 10 mins later McCarthy in the Wick goal took to long to clear the ball with the Clach forward right on top of him.5 mins from half time Finnis got booked for a comment to the ref' Clach did...
Clach picked up where they left off last week as they came from behind to hammer Lossiemouth at Grant Street. The game got off to a slow start with most of the play being in midfield and both teams punting it from one end to the other trying to use the strikers pace.
The holders of the cup Clachnacuddin comfortably sealed their place in the next round after coming from behind to see off the challenge posed by Deveronvale. The game got off to a lightning start when John Campbell was left red-faced after the back pass from Andrew Skinner took an awkward bobble and Graeme Rodger nipped in behind him to slot it home to give the away side the lead.
Deveronvale 3 v Clachnacuddin 3 Clachnacuddin kicked off the first half at Princess Royal Park and the first chance of the game came to Deveronvale’s new signing Stuart Leslie when he struck a shot but it hit the top of the net. Deveronvale had another chance minutes later once again from Leslie when he was through, but Clach keeper Macdonald saved Leslie’s shot with his legs. Clach’s first chance of the game came to their number 10 David Watson when he struck a volley which went inches past...
Ross MacPherson showed the Can-Cans’ fans exactly what they had been missing during his lengthy absence, scoring one goal and setting up another to inspire his team to a 5-2 victory over Clachnacuddin at Mosset Park. Coming on in the 58th minute for Ryan Mackintosh, the diminutive midfielder was a constant thorn in the side of the Inverness outfit and the home support must have been purring with excitement thinking about how MacPherson could be performing when he has a few more games under his...
Clachnacuddin 0 Wick Academy 2 High-flying Wick Academy left Grant Street with all three points against buoyant Clach.Clach nearly got off to the perfect start when lively winger Blair Lawrie found room within the first minute down the right-hand side. His deep cross found Gary Kerr at the back post who was unable to beat Academy keeper Sean McCarthy.Clach were then nearly gifted the lead by Wick. A long ball over the top from captain Gordon Morrison beat everyone and his opposite number Alan...
Clachnacuddin narrowly edged a lacklustre affair at Grant Street Park. Clach last week were looking to bounce back following a Scottish Cup thrashing to the hands of Hurlford United. Martin Johnson was named as a 'Trialist' on the Locos bench which was the main talking point of the game. The first half never seemed to get going as both sides failed to register a single shot on target between them. Locos came close in the 4th minute when a corner from captain Neil McLean eventually found David Ross in...
A point apiece is how this tight encounter ended at Grant Street Park. Despite Formartine receiving a red card on the hour mark they salvaged a point at Clach through Ross Campbell after Paul Brindle had opened the scoring shortly after the red card. It was Clach who seemed to have the better start to the game in the Inverness sunshine. After 10 minutes a good cross by Martin Laing found Stephen Mackenzie who saw his snap shot cleared off the line. Just two minutes later a clever one two down...
Clachnacuddin eased to the semi-final of the Breedon Aggregates Highland League Cup, thrashing Rothes by a seven-goal margin for the second time this season. Clach took the lead on 20 minutes when Paul Brindle walked through the Rothes defence from the left and blasted into the top right corner past Ricky Horne. The lead was doubled five minutes before the break, with Blair Lawrie again strolling through the defence with a bit of skill, with his shot taking the slightest of touches off a...
Nine-man Clachnacuddin battled back from a 1-0 half-time deficit to earn all three points in this local derby. Clach were reduced to ten-men in the first-half when Gordon Morrison was adjudged to have elbowed an opponent, with Nairn's Stuart Leslie latching onto a pass by Robbie Duncanson before finishing past John Campbell. It was ten against ten when Gregg Main went in hard on Campbell, with Paul Brindle equalising for the home side moments later. Andrew Skinner was dismissed for a second...
