  • Saturday 10th Oct – Forres 2 Keith 0

Forres Mechanics recorded their fifth-straight league win as they defeated a lacklustre Keith at Mosset Park. Goals from Liam Baxter and Dachi Khutsishvili in the first half were enough for a Can-Cans victory. With only 90 seconds on the clock Forres started the game the in best way possible, as Baxter cut into the box from the left flank and smashed the ball into the net from a tight angle to hand the hosts the opener.

  • Sat 11th April - Turriff Utd 2 Forres 0

Turriff Utd ended their home League campaign on a high and have two more games to play before concentrating on their Aberdeenshire Shield Final meeting with Fraserburgh on 25th April. Meanwhile for Forres Mechanics the absence of key players proved too much as they found it hard to keep their hungry opponents at bay. It was a very quiet opening as both sides looked to master the blustery conditions. In 10 minutes, Gary McGowan beat the offside trap but blasted over, one of six balls hitting...

  • Wed 1st April - Forres 2 Inverurie 1

Forres Mechanics grabbed victory in injury-time to end their home campaign on a high but this was very much a game Inverurie Locos should have won after playing against 10 men for 48 minutes. Sleety rain and freezing cold conditions fooled nobody, this was far from a mild night for the first midweek game of BST and it was Locos with the first chance, when Andy Hunter brought out an easy save from Stuart Knight in the 2nd minute. The Can-Cans replied with Steven Fraser setting Kris Duncan away...

  • Saturday 7th March - Huntly 1 Forres Mechanics 2

Forres Mechanics had a bit of good fortune as they came from behind to secure their third straight win at Christie Park over Huntly. Alexander Thoirs and David Christie both missed out due to work commitments while there was a surprise return for Murray McCulloch who featured for the first time since October 29th. Forres made one change from their last game with Formartine United as...

  • Sat 14th Feb - Forres 6 Rothes 2

Forres Mechanics inflicted a heavy defeat on Rothes for the second week running, this time beating them 6-2 in a league match at Mosset Park to avenge the 5-2 defeat that the Can-Cans suffered at the hands of the Speysiders when the two sides met at Mackessock Park last October. Absent from the game for Forres was the hero of last week’s Highland League Cup encounter, Stuart Soane, who picked an injury during the week.

  • Sat 7th Feb - Forres 7 Rothes 1

Forres Mechanics ruthlessly dismantled neighbours Rothes at Mosset Park, beating their hapless opponents 7-1 to reach the second round of the Highland League Cup. Weeks of postponements due to a waterlogged and frozen pitch meant that the Can-Cans had been without a competitive home game since they lost 0-3 to Nairn on January 3. The high intensity and the fight that Forres showed in the opening minutes indicated just how determined they were to get a positive result after such a lengthy...

  • Sat 6th Dec - Forres 3 Keith 4

A goal reminiscent of Ronaldinho’s lobbed free-kick over the head of David Seaman in the 2002 World Cup Quarter Final by Maroons midfielder Greg Smith helped Keith to clinch only their first win in 12 games, with a 4-3 victory away to Forres Mechanics at Mosset Park.

  • Sat 29th Nov - Buckie 2 Forres 0

The early kick off took place at Victoria Park where a high-tempo playing Buckie Thistle defeated Forres Mechanics 2-0 and it may have been a cricket score if it wasn’t for goalie Mark Bowden’s outstanding display. The Jags controlled the match and made a great recovery from Tuesday’s Aberdeenshire Shield loss to Fraserburgh.    The hosts threatened from the start with Chris Angus cutting inside to send in a powerful strike which keeper Mark Bowden blocked with his legs after a shaky beginning...

  • Sat 1st Nov - Forres 2 Strathspey 1

Forres showed great character to defeat Strathspey in dramatic fashion at the death. It took only nine minutes for the hosts to take the lead as a brilliant free-kick was headed right over Steve Dunn’s head by Graeme Fraser. Soon after Craig McGovern whipped in a dangerous cross and Lee Fraser hit the side netting with his effort. Charlie Rowley’s side suffered a blow as Graham Fraser was taken off with a painful injury. But Forres could have doubled their lead when Lee Fraser sprinted clean...
