SPFL Trust Trophy Second Round

Inverness Caley Thistle v Buckie Thistle

Championship leaders Caley Thistle host Buckie Thistle at Caledonian Stadium and they’re likely to give some fringe players a run-out against their Highland League opponents. Billy Mckay, Reece McAlear and Cameron Harper could all start for Billy Dodds’ men.

Sam Morrison misses out through suspension for the visitors, while Declan Milne, Scott Adams and Adam McLeod remain out injured.

Highland League

Brechin City P-P Brora Rangers

Deveronvale v Strathspey Thistle

Deveronvale face Strathspey Thistle at Princess Royal Park, and the home side will look to build on two decent comebacks which earned them draws against Huntly and Wick Academy. Only a point separates these two sides in the table, both teams are looking for their second league win of the season.

Strathspey will aim to bounce back from successive home defeats to Keith and Rothes. They travel to Banff without Kris Duncan, Kieran Chalmers, Robbie Donaldson, James McShane, Jake Thompson and Andrew McLean.

Inverurie Locos v Formartine Utd

The first of two local derbies takes place at Harlaw Park, where Inverurie Locos take on Formartine. The home side have fitness doubts over Neil McLean, Robert Ward and Gary McGowan.

Formartine bounced back from defeats to Brechin and Buckie by defeating Huntly in the Aberdeenshire Cup in midweek. A win here would take either side into the top four, with the Brechin and Brora postponed due to a number of Covid cases in the Brora camp.

Keith v Clach

Keith are in good form and will hope to continue that against Clach at Kynoch Park. Scott Henry, James Brownie, Liam Duncan and Andrew Stewart are all unavailable for the home side.

Ryan Macleman and Harry Nicolson are in the Clach squad after joining the club on loan from Ross County and Caley Thistle respectively. Connor Bunce misses out.

Fraserburgh v Huntly

Broch manager Mark Cowie has a full squad to choose from for the visit of Huntly to Bellslea. A win for the home side would put them six points clear at the top, with top four rivals Buckie, Brechin and Brora all out of league action this weekend.

Huntly will be without Colin Charlesworth, Bradley Manson, Liam McDonald, Stuart Taylor, Alex Thoirs, Angus Grant, Gavin Elphinstone and Glenn Murison. Joel MacBeath will come into the squad after joining on loan from Elgin City for the rest of the season.
