Clach v Strathspey Thistle

Clach meet Strathspey in a Friday night fixture at Grant Street, with both clubs looking to notch their first league win of the season.

Ryan Mackintosh, Connor Bunce and Michael McRobert all miss out for the home side, but Martin Callum and Blair Lawrie return to the squad. The club have signed defender Lewis Nicolson and midfielder Robbie Thompson on loan until the New Year from Caley Thistle.

Robbie Donaldson (hand) and Kieran Chalmers (knee) both miss out through injury for the visitors, who also have a doubt over Stephen Rennie. Teenage striker Ethan Cairns has moved to the club on loan, also from Championship side Caley Thistle.

Sam Morrison headed home a corner to give the vistors a half time lead, only for Luc Bollan to level matters for City five minutes after the break.
Sam Urquhart fired in a rebound to put Buckie back in front with 14 minutes remaining, then substitute Callum Murray sealed the win with a third in injury time.
The Jags face a trip to Championship side Inverness Caley Thistle in the Second Round.

Brora boss Steven Mackay resigns

Steven Mackay has resigned as manager of Brora Rangers, after a successful ten-year spell at Dudgeon Park as both player and manager.

Mackay stood down as Cattachs boss following their heavy defeat to Fraserburgh on Saturday.

Mackay works in the central belt from Sunday to Thursday, and feels he is unable to commit enough time to Brora to do the job to the standard required:

“The way my lifestyle is with working away most of the week, Brora is not getting everything I can give."

“If I’d continued in the role and only been able to give half my time to Brora then it could get worse."

Assistant manager Craig Campbell takes temporary charge with Brora due to face Aberdeen B in the SPFL Trust trophy on Tuesday evening.
